And we’re live! I finally got over over-analyzing how to start a blog, whether or not I had time, went through 1000 templates so I could perfect the look and feel I was trying to go for, and got through all the (what seemed like) never-ending list of complications that come with starting any new project - most of which were rooted in procrastination.
I am happy to finally have my own little corner of the Internet to spread inspiration for all things DIY (hope your Cricut machines are ready), share recipes that actually went well and can actually be repeated by those with reasonable life chaos, and to basically write about things that keep me up at night. I am also looking forward to having my own little online kiosk (hence, the name of the site) where you can shop my own DIY creations as well as those of my very talented family, friends and broader network.
A lot of my posts might graze the concept of imperfect activism, which is the notion that positive impact can be achieved even if we’re not consistently writing our politicians daily, attending large-scale protests or even being perfect score recyclers. Small lifestyle changes at the individual level (which I know isn’t easy - ask me how many times I can forget my reusable grocery bags in a row) contribute to the overall goal of promoting environmental sustainability. All this to say that I may make it a point to hype up recipes that feature meat as a background extra or fully absent, or DIY that incorporates upcycling and avoids glitter (no matter how lovely it is).
I may also include affiliate links. These are links in the posts that I may earn a commission on at no additional cost to you if you click through and make a purchase. These links and the shop are mainly to cover the website fees but I promise to only promote products/pages that align with what I’m about.
Thanks for reading this far! I am so happy you’re here!
